#9-10-12-2 Pit Mix, black/white young adult male, stray. I
am a big boy with lots of personality and playfulness. As you can see from the pictures I love a good belly rub. I am super smart. I don't know why I haven't found a home yet, I am super nice and really handsome. (Volunteer Note: I call him "Big Boy". He is a good leash walker and is very good with "sit". I am working with him on "down" now. He is a very smart dog and is eager to please. He loves treats and attention.) (2nd Volunteer Note: Hi all- I just want to add that this week's spotlight is one of my favorites that I work with at the shelter (I volunteer). He thinks he's still a puppy which is hard for him because he doesn't get how big he is. He gets very excited when he sees people and tries to jump up and give you kisses continually which can intimidate people and because he is so big. But this is because he has so much puppy energy. He really is a big loving goof. He will play ball forever so I do that to wear him down and he is very treat motivated. I taught him to sit (and stop jumping) in less than 5 when he first came to the shelter months ago. And if you do pet him when he sits, he will eventually flop over on his back for belly rubs. And lastly, with his jumping off leash you should know that he is great on the leash- doesn't pull at all. I always enjoy walking him on the trails outside the shelter and I'm 5'5"- not tall or strong whatsoever. This guy is very handsome and sweet, meeting him will make you a fan!)
