08/11/2012 - Natato was pulled from the shelter into our foster program today. He is a wonderful but energetic and playful 9 months old puppy who gets along great with dogs and cats.

9/21/2012- Hi, My name is Nikki and I am the foster mom, for Natato. I cannot say enough about how sweet and playful this little man is. My husband and I have 2 pitbulls, both from Bully Paws ;-), and 1 German Shepherd mix. While full of energy, Nate gets along with all 3 of them great. He is sweet, has never shown aggression (even when my girl, Bean, walks over and steals his chewing bone), and is learning the pecking order since the other 3 are all older than him. We do have 3 cats and we haven't really let him interact with them, so we're unsure of how he will respond in that setting. All you readers will have to come back for an update on his progression.
If you have space in your home, Natato will be perfect. His sweetness and playfulness will win you over. He needs someone to devote themselves to him and whoever does will not regret it. There are so many moments that I am tempted hug and kiss him. But, since I already have my other 3 babies, we try and keep Natato at a good distance so that when his forever home comes along, he will glom on to them like glue. And he is desperately seeking the security of his own home. He wants so badly to be as loved and held as much as our other 3 puppies.
Also, if you're a runner (like me) or a cyclist, he is perfect for you. I have taught my other Pit, Bean, to be my running partner and in the process, she has learned to keep stride with me so that I can run hands free. Eventually, Natato, should he be with us long enough, he will learn to be the same type of running partner. Lastly, this little dog is so bright that he is learning hand signals. So far he has "sit", "lay", and is learning "leave it", "take it (verbal)", and "stay". Also, he is learning how to walk on a leash in a more well mannered fashion.
Lastly, we will get some more pictures of this little man up for all of you interested readers here soon. 1/15/2013 Greetings all, Natato is coming along wonderfully. He is good with cats now. He still gets a little rambunctious and is learning his own size, but his intentions to play are good. Not sure that the cats agree;-). He is now attending adoption events with Bully Paws. You can catch him at the Springfield Pets Mart for sure, but we're trying to broaden out and get to Gainsville and Fredericksburg as well. If you have the slightest inkling to meet this little guy, we'll be happy to see you there. We've uploaded a few new pictures of him so that you can see how well he is getting along with our dogs.
